The fact that I am even writing an inspiration DIY post is almost laughable. I am more of a “let me see if I can find this on etsy” person. Its not that I think I am bad at crafts, it is that I KNOW I am. I was a girl scout camp counselor for 3 summers in college, crafting for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and I don’t think there was 1 time I brought something home I was proud of. But the past is behind me. I have new found faith in my abilities.
I went to Michaels and bought what is called chalkboard paint. As an FYI, everything you need for this is behind bars and locked cabinets which makes you second guess if what you are doing is legal. For smooth writing, I recommend some chalk pens. These are similar to paint pens, but are “somewhat” erasable. After a little trial and error, we found that spraying the glass that comes in the picture frame works best. Spray glass- Put glass back in Frame- Project Complete.
This was inspired by my successfully crafty friend Lindsey and her wedding table numbers.
Don’t try to do this project on your driveway, unless you want your driveway to be a chalkboard. Learn from my mistake…
If for some reason, this is too complicated for you or time consuming, (Seriously?!?!) you can find some adorable mini chalkboards at CB2. 14.95 each.
