Wine Wednesday began when I didn’t understand why #ww amongst all my “wedding tweeters”, needed stand for Wedding Weds. Everyday in that twitter world is a wedding day. I mean I LOVE blogging about weddings and events, but sometimes change is good. So for the first Wednesday of every month, I dedicate my post to WINE WEDNESDAY. If I ever needed a Wine Weds, this one is it! After a long day… week…month of working tirelessly, I feel excited I am able to sit back and write about wine. Still, as my second installment, I promise to keep the wine posts to the first Weds of the month and no more. Why? Because this blog could quickly turn into a funny wine blog and have absolutely nothing to do with SLD inspiration. I like to pretend I have followers who would be sad about that!
So here goes. Wine Weds Vol.2 is dedicated to Tobin James. I have been a Tobin James Gang club member for a few years, so it only seemed appropriate. Tobin James wines are fruity, big, spicy and bold. I haven’t come across one that has lacked that “pow” of flavor. Our wine fridge is stocked full of them and I am never disappointed. Tonight’s is a Petit Verdot. It is on the sweeter, fruitier side which is a signature trait of the Tobin bold reds.
I don’t just want to sound like a walking advertisement for this place, but Tobin James has one of the best value (and most popular) wine clubs in the Paso Robles region. Their tasting room which is set up as a country saloon is a party every time. One of my favorite people to drink wine with is my matron of honor Kristin. I know Kristin would LOVE Tobin James and a trip to their tasting room. It is the type of casual environment we thrive on. Today is Kristin’s birthday. Happy Birthday Kiki. I wish you could be here in California with me so we can share a bottle (or 4). Today, I also found out my maid of honor Shannon is engaged. Shannon and I have shared our passion for wine for years and experienced wine tasting trips all over the state of California together. Cheers to you Shannon and Terry. I can’t wait for the times ahead. There is a lot to celebrate in life and I am lucky to have such wonderful friends to share it with.
I love wine. I probably buy too much wine. I have quite the obsession. You don’t have to take my opinions on my wine recommendations for the month seriously. But I hope whatever you are drinking, you take the time to taste it, enjoy it and soak up a moment of peace.
