The image above is from a shoot I styled for Eco- Beautiful Magazine a few years ago. The entire shoot had a Vintage California theme. I am based in Southern California, but I wasn’t born and raised here. I am lucky to have found my way West and when I am not busy planning fabulous events, I try to appreciate everything California has to offer. From eating dinners outside, to concerts at the park – weather is something that is usually on our side. This is a blessing when it comes to planning weddings, but also in our every day lives.
With the ever present sun, we have the ability to grow our own herbs year round, which is something I never would have thought of doing in Chicago. A week ago, we took a trip to Ikea and purchased those buckets below and then headed to Home Depot to fill them. We decided on basil, rosemary, parsley, jalapeno and cilantro. There is something very fulfilling about being able to grow something you can eat. Steve is worried about them dying, but quite honestly, I think he is going to eat them all before they have a chance to grow anyways…
Speaking of growing….
On the SLD front, I have been busier than ever these past few weeks. Aside from the weddings and events, I have some inspirational shoots in the works along with some DIY goodies coming up, so stay tuned! I am also looking for some fall interns along with day-of assistants to have on staff. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in joining the team!
