I am introducing a new section to the blog titled “Pretty with Purpose” with the hope that I am able to inspire at least a few people to make decisions that not only enhance their wedding or event, but also the lives of others. This first post is going to be dedicated to FEED projects. When I worked in advertising, I had the pleasure of working directly with the founders of FEED ( Lauren Bush Lauren and Ellen Gustafson) Since that time, the company has grown substantially, and the product line has increased so much it is easy to incorporate some of these items that do good. As an owner of a few FEED bags, I can tell you that their quality is amazing and it is always a good feeling when you are able to tell others about the company and the number of people you are feeding because of your purchase.
To date, FEED has provided over 60 million school meals to children around the world through the sale of their products. FEED has also partnered with the US Fund for UNICEF, raising much-needed funds for their Vitamin A and micronutrient supplements program and providing over 46,000 children with essential nutrients.
The bags are obviously a great gift for the bridesmaids to hold all of the wedding essentials. They range from large or small makeup pouches. The bracelets come in a multitude of colors and at only $10 each, are hard to pass up.
This summer, FEED can also be found in Target Stores through their Feeding America partnership. Many couples decide to do welcome bags for their out of town guests. Why not make that bag reusable and one that give 5 meals back to people in need? The ones shows below are only $7.
As this section grows, I hope it inspires you to think outside tradition. A lot of event details can be amazing opportunities to give back to an organization or cause that is important to you. It allows your guests to participate in something that is personal and allows you to do something good for others on one of the most meaningful days of your life.
