If you have been following along on facebook and instagram, then you know the last few months have been probably the most insane in my life. (Both difficult and amazing). We started our journey to Chicago at the end of October, Halloween to be exact. We drove for 4 days while I was extremely pregnant until we got to Chicago. It was a fun journey as we stopped in Vegas, Utah, and Nebraska to rest and explore.
Once we got to Chicago, we were in Corporate Housing for a month. Since we only had this set-up for a month and knew we wouldn’t be able to find a home and get settled in time, we set up an airbnb for the 2 months following. During this time I would have my baby girl.
Bringing a newborn into a one bedroom garden apt (the airbnb) without big windows, without much of her stuff as it is in storage until we have our home, and in some of the worst weather I’ve seen in awhile ( say negative 15 windchills). We were stuck. But once our baby girl ( who we named Callie after California) arrived, I still felt like the luckiest person alive.
Now we are one month later. We closed on our home and moved into our new place in Lincoln Park, but our moving company is lagging behind so we are still without all of our furniture and belongings. We bought a new bed, we have TV and a borrowed futon, a foldup card table and chairs and are surviving.
Things haven’t been easy. But I have this love bug with me everyday which makes everything ok.
That’s all for the personal updates. Stay tuned as I have a ton of more weddings to blog and catch you up on!
