Our baby girl is now 2 months old!! This also marks the time where I am going to start getting back into it and kicking off things in Chicago. I actually already snuck a few meetings in I was able to plan on the weekends when Steve was home to watch Callie. The Ritz Carlton in Chicago was nice enough to reach out and invite me over to tour their event spaces and have lunch at their restaurant Deca. This was such a treat for me and marked the very first time I was out of the house dressed up post baby. The hotel is amazing ( of course ) I will admit that ballrooms are still something I have to get used to, but when you have a chandelier that covers the entire ceiling – it’s pretty easy to be impressed. They also have this smaller event space that looks very 1920s speakeasy/art deco that I am obsessed with. Can someone please have something that calls for it? My favorite part of the Ritz is always the flowers at the front, regardless of which Ritz I’ve been to ( I’m partial to Laguna/Dana Point), the flowers in the front are always a dream.
Also, during my little maternity leave, DreamDry in Lincoln Park reached out and invited me to check out their VIP space and try one of their signature Blow Outs. As a new mom, I consider myself lucky when my hair is even clean… I couldn’t hold my excitement for a blow out so I scheduled it right away. Not only do I love their upstairs VIP area ( that I want to book for my own party of some sort) but the overall space in general is chic and filled with talented stylists. Would you expect anything less from a Rachael Zoe concept? If you are around the Lincoln Park area, I totally recommend it. It seems a lot bigger than a lot of the blow dry bars I have walked passed.
I am SO thrilled the weather is taking a turn and it has been a bit warmer out. I have been able to get out for a walk with baby girl in her Ergo which has been a dream come true. I was stuck inside waaaay too long. I’m going to take things slow as I get SLD up and running in Chicago, but can’t wait! The inquiries have already started coming in so there is a lot to get excited about. Also, stay tuned as I still have a few good weddings to share with you all that I have been holding onto.
