This post is SO overdue, but I I wanted to wait until I had the time to truly devote to it. Sharon and Corey’s Old Hollywood wedding is one I will always remember and will forever hold dear to my heart. It is very rare to come across a bride like Sharon. She is a little firecracker of energy and excitement. It is impossible not to smile and laugh when she is around. She also has the biggest heart and was such a dream to work with on designing her big day.
When we started with creating the design, we knew we wanted to do a classic Old Hollywood style wedding to compliment the famous Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. It was a perfect fit considering the ballroom is where the first ever Academy Awards were held. It also wouldn’t be Sharon’s wedding, if we didn’t glam it up with gold glitter. I did have to keep the glitter/gold contained a bit – I think if Sharon had her way we would be showering gold glitter from the walls! Outside of the glam, we needed to make it personal. There isn’t a single item, from the menus, to the guest book where we didn’t ask the question ” How can we make this more personal, How can this represent Sharon and Corey”
I am obsessed with this wedding. It was my last wedding before having Callie ( I was suuuuper pregs ) and my last wedding in California before moving HQ to Chicago. It was such good one to end on and I credit that to the team I got to work with. First off, these pictures…. wow… Brian Leahy – you outdid yourself. I can’t thank you enough for capturing all the details so beautifully. My good friend and fellow designer – Kristeen Labrot created the best printed pieces… I showed her one mood board and she nailed it instantly. The flowers from Heavenly Blooms were to die for!! So much of our designed relied on her capturing our floral vision. It was just such a fun night… hard not to be with one of the best live bands around. And did I mention my first Hora?!?! I can’t want to get back to California so Sharon and I can have another date at Magnolia Cupcakes and reminisce on all the wonderful memories from the day. Ok – enough talking – enjoy these gorgeous photos.
Thank you Sharon and Corey for choosing me. I wish you nothing but the very best.
