Yes! It is true, February is National Wedding Month, and because I am a wedding planner in Chicago, let’s celebrate this month. Here are a few fun wedding statistics I thought I would share….
The average American engagement is 16 months
Every year an average of 2.4 million weddings are performed in the U.S.
The most popular months for weddings are (in order) June, August, September, October, and May.
80% of weddings are in churches or synagogues.
69% of engaged couples have known each other longer than 3 years!
Now that leads me to #whyisntJunenationalweddingmonth – right? Valentines Day in February might have something to do with it or maybe February has the most engagements which lead to weddings… anybody? I actually never get booked for February weddings… I think I’ve only had 2. If you are a February bride out there – comment! I want to know who you are ! Why February?! ♥
