Hi Guys! I know it’s been awhile. If you have been following my instagram, then you know that 2 weeks ago we had our little girl Callie Jean join us! It has been a whirlwind two weeks and I promise to share her story and pictures soon – but I feel it’s time to share another wedding. I already have some exciting meetings set-up in Chicago, so I’m prepping to get this show up and running.
Today, I want to share Jamie and Matt’s eclectic wedding. It was the first time I had the opportunity to work at the Ebell and also the first time I felt that “being creative” just wouldn’t be good enough. I didn’t just have to think outside the box, I had to throw that box away and find a triangle. Working with my vendors I had to keep telling them ” think crazier…”. And the result could not have been more perfect.
We had 5 different music acts beginning with the Spirit Strings through Scott Cummings Music which was a string quartet playing rock songs as guests arrived, then a solo guitarist (Matt’s uncle who actually wrote the song) singing and playing Matt and Jamie’s song as they walked down the aisle, an old school Jazz quartet playing Metallica during cocktail hour, a Rolling Stones Cover band for the reception, and ending with a Vox DJs ( and go-go dancers with glow and the dark tutus).
Flowers were not going to happen. We were doing animal topiaries (with tables named after characters in Animal Farm) and cactus for fillers. Brooke from the Plum Dahlia completely rocked this one and completed my favorite bouquet ever. We used gold animal magnets for the escort cards, dry ice and tequila Popsicles for dessert, put pink flamingos all over the lawn to lead up to the video/photo booth (by GC Photo) and tray passed glow sticks to kick off the rave at night. There wasn’t a detail that was overlooked. I needed a vacation after this one – but it sure was an adventure.
